What is Next Generation Trail Races?
We here at Trail Racing Over Texas think it is important to give our kids and children the opportunity to run the trails just like the adults. We want to promote trail running as a way to encourage youth to be active, be healthy, and have fun. This race's process will be the same as you would expect from any other TROT race with just a few adjustments. The age range is from 0-18. We will not have awards for individual places. We will have bibs, shirts, and medals for all of the runners that finish the race. We want our youth athletes to get the experience of picking up a packet, starting at the banner, and finishing with a medal.
We will need a lot of support in putting these events on with safety and structure. Parents will be REQUIRED to run with their child if he/she requires it. We will have a check in/check out on the course and also have safety monitors that will run in the races as well.
Wear a costume. Something spooky or silly, simple or complex, whatever. It'll be fun. It's Halloween!
The trails are primarily single track and on soft ground, pine needles, or soft clay. There is little to no elevation gain, just a few small rollers along the course.
The Start/Finish is at the small amphitheater.
1M will be a small out and back loop
5k will be 1 loop of 3.1 mi

The closest airport to this race would be George Bush International Airport
Each runner will receive a shirt when they pick up their packet and a medal for finishing their race.
With any race comes a small army that works behind the scenes to make it all happen. We think volunteers are the MOST important part of any race and we do our best to provide them with the best as well. If you have never been on the other side of the table, give it a shot!
Organizing a group to staff an aid station can be a great fundraiser opportunity for your organization. Earn up to $250 for your cause or that money can be used towards travel expenses among the members of your group, use it however you see fit.
Volunteer Shifts Range from 4-8 hours depending on the event.
All of our volunteers will receive:
Free park entry, an area to camp, race merchandise, and a provided meal on race day.
In Addition to this:
*If you volunteer for (1) Shift at any race you will get 50% off registration for any of our events in the future.
** If you volunteer for (2) Shifts at one race you will receive A FREE 100% Comped Entry into any one of our races in the future.
*** We will also have some shifts for our 100k and 100 mile races that we will give 100% comped entries for as well.
If you would like to volunteer please emails us at email@example.com and we will send you a schedule of shifts that can be worked as well as a description of the jobs and what they entail.
We will be providing VOLUNTEER TRAINING as well once you have been selected for the shifts.
