COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is a great rolling course with some small rocky and technical sections.

Saturday May 11th

SHUTTLE BUSES RUN FROM 4:30AM UNTIL 7PM at MAYFEST PARK

5am-8:00am Packet Pickup Bastrop State Park Start/Finish

6am Start of the 50k  ( 5 loops of the 6.2 course)

7am Start of the 25k ( 2 loops 6.2 + 1 loop 3.8)

7:30am Start of the 10k ( 1 loop of the 6.2 course)

8:00am Start of the 5k ( 1 loop 3.8 course)

RACE CUTOFF 6pm 12 HOURS

 

Sunday May 12th

7am Start of the Marathon ( Tower out/back, 4 6.2 loops)

Elevation: Good Rule of Thumb is about 80-90 feet per mile. So 13.1 would be around 1100' feet of gain and 5k would 270 feet of gain.

WHAT'S ON THE TABLE

All aid stations  (2) are FULL AID STATIONS and will be full stocked with Texas Style Goodies.

Drinks-Gatorade, Water and Hammer Nutrition (sponsor)

Red Bull at all aid stations and pre/post race (sponsor)

Sodas-Coke, Ginger ale and maybe some orange as well.

Electrolytes- Hammer Endurolytes

Sweet- Cookies, Candy, Peanut Butter, Nutella

Salty-Pringles, Trail Mix, PB&J

PB&js, Bean burrito rolls, fruit ie bananas, oranges, seasonal fruits.

Bearded Brothers Bars (sponsor)

Medical including bandages, vasoline, band aids and other medical needs. ( NO NSAIDS ie ibuprofen) 

Trail Toes at all aid stations with tape pre/post race (sponsor)

We will have everything you need at our aid stations and we usually throw in something to make it fun.

We have done sheet cake, pies, special candies, pineapple etc… You never know what the surprise will be!

CUPLESS RACING

We do our best to limit the footprint we leave at races and on the trails. With that being said we DO NOT have cups at all the aid stations for water. We encourage all of our runners to use reusable cups, bottles and hydration packs to carry water in. 

PARKING:

There is a $5 fee per person per day for the special event that goes to the park. It does NOT matter if you have a parks pass for this race or not in this instance. You can pay for this thursday, friday, saturday or sunday but it must be paid BEFORE you get your bib, 


SHUTTLE:

The shuttle will run from Mayfest park and to the start area on Saturday and Sunday.

Address: 25 American Legion Dr Bastrop, Texas. 

The shuttle is 1.1 miles from the start of the race. You may walk once you park your car instead of taking the shuttle if you would like to not wait in line. 

 

 

DROP BAGS:

You can have a drop bag at the start/finish area and the outbound aid stations. All drop bags are due 5am on saturday or 6am on sunday. 

PACERS/CREW:

There is no pacers for the race. Your crew can only set up tents/canopies from the road to the finish arch there is no other room for them to be there. 

LODGING:

WE ENCOURAGE ALL RUNNERS TO STAY IN THE PARK. NOT ONLY DOES IT CUT BACK ON TRAFFIC IT ALSO HELPS THE PARK OUT AS WELL. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CAMPGROUND FOR ALL DAY SATURDAY AS CHECK OUT IS 2pm NORMALLY.

Directions to the park:

The park is one mile east of Bastrop on Texas 21, also accessible from the east on Texas 71 or by way of Buescher State Park along Park Road 1.

If you enter “Bastrop State Park” in a GPS when coming from the west, you may be routed off of HWY 71 to unpaved Harmon Road, and into the back of the park through Park Road 1C; try entering in “Park Rd 1 Bastrop, TX 78602”.

If you run a race on Saturday and Sunday you WILL receive a Double Day Medal no matter the distance.

VOLUNTEERING:

With any race comes a small army that works behind the scenes to make it all happen. We think volunteers are the MOST important part of any race and we do our best to provide them with the best as well. If you have never been on the other side of the table than give it a shot.

Volunteer Shifts Range from 4-8 hours depending on event.

All of Our volunteers will receive:

Free park entry, an area to camp,  race merchandise, and a provided meal on race day.

In Addition to this:

*If you volunteer for (1) Shift at any race you will get 50% off registration for any of our event in the future.

** If you volunteer for (2) Shifts at one race you will receive A FREE 100% Comped Entry Into any one of races in the future.

*** We will also have some shifts for our 100k and 100 mile races that we will give 100% comped entries for as well.

We will be providing VOLUNTEER TRAINING in the process as well once you have been selected for the shifts as well.
